Hi, I’m Liz and I am treasurer of the engineering society, meaning I ensure all of the societies finances are in order and keep record of any transactions made.I am a second year sustainable engineering student and joined the society because I wanted to get the most out of my degree that I could, and hopefully enrich others life whilst their at their university, also I seem to be a lot more organised than the guys!

I have been with the society since its creation, and hope to continue to fulfil my responsibilities for another year.

Outside of engineering I enjoy nap time, playing guitar and socialising.

WHO?

My name is Leila Tavendale. I’m 19 years old. I have a ridiculously big love of music, shoes, movies and bags.

POSITION?

Secretary.

RESPONSIBILITIES?

Mainly, I’m trying to keep people in the loop. I send out emails to society members on behalf of the society and I’m in charge of making sure everyone knows where they’re supposed to be and when. I also sort out all your memberships and circulate agendas, take minutes… All the basic admin-type things.

WHAT DO I DO?

In my spare time, I’ll either be buying more shoes or dancing in my underwear. I’m a very strange person.

WHY DID I JOIN?

I joined because [as sad as it sounds], Engineering is a big part of my life. Being in the society gives me the chance to work with some of the best people I know whilst doing something I’m passionate about. I’m not great at sports and I’m not the most academic person you’ll ever meet, but you don’t have to be to join Engineering – we want you as you are.

Hey, I’m Mike and I am the Engineering Society President for 08/09. I co-founded the soicety with the other exec members in May 08 when we felt that there wasn’t enough sense of community in the department, from there we decided to extend our availiablity to all students who have an interest and it seems a lot of you do! I am currently in my second year at Lancaster studying Mechatronic Engineering BEng and I love it!! For those of you who are not aware, the course is basically half Mechanical Engineering, and half Electrical Engineering with prospects in multi-discipline environments such as Robotics. I hope that you deem me worthy of my position as President and I intend to continue my dedication to the society in bringing it to meet the needs of lancaster students.
