It’s (almost) half way through term, so here are two unmissable events to look forward to!
Brewery Tour – Facebook event
Come and join us for our annual tour of Lancaster Brewery, on the evening of Thursday 21st November (Week 7). Tickets are only £22 for members, or £24 for non-members, so bring your mates! Tickets include three hours at the brewery with a tour of the brewing facilities, 6 pints of Lancaster ale or cider, and a hearty meal of pie, peas and (of course) gravy. It’s always a great evening, so come along! Tickets sold most days in the coffee room until Week 7.
Christmas Meal & Pub Quiz – Facebook Event
This year’s Christmas meal is being held at the Penny Street Bridge, on Thursday 5th December (Week 9). A three course meal is only £15 (menu here), and drinks are 25% off with a purple card. The meal will be followed with our annual pub quiz (with prizes of course). Will the lecturers win, again!?!?! Taking orders most days in the coffee room, or on facebook. Orders and payment needed ASAP to secure your place.
There’s no social this week to allow first years time to prepare for their progress tests, watch this space for next weeks social!

For this week’s social we will be going back to our engineering roots, and playing with some Lego Mindstorms courtesy of the Engineering Department. We will be meeting in Fylde Lt 3 at 7:30PM on Thursday 10th. Membership is £2 for the entire year, and if you haven’t paid yet you can still come along – just remember your purple card number!

Join the Engineering Society on June 22nd from 3PM onwards for an all you can eat BBQ down at the duck pond!
That’s all you can eat for £5.There will be a gazebo and music. Bring your own booze.

Minor changes have been made to the constitution, most notably the position of Events & Media Manager has been replaced by the Publicity Officer. The role now emphasises the publicity and social media presence of the society but no longer entails the managing of events and competitions.

We hope you’ve all had a nice summer. A big welcome this years freshers and it’s good to see those of you that have returned this year.
This weeks social is the traditional campus bar crawl where we let everyone know who we are by wearing Hi-Vis vests, whilst visiting various establishments around campus! If you haven’t got a spare one laying around, don’t fear, the exec will be selling them on the night for a very reasonable £2 each.
Also, if you’ve haven’t yet registered with the society or need to pay your £2 membership fee for the year, this would be the perfect opportunity to find us and have some fun in the mean time.
So please come along and meet many other like-mined people from a range of years!
